Fortinet licences fall into three groups. Most of them are subscriptions bound to the serial number of a device or to your Fortinet account.
FortiGuard security services
IPS, antivirus, web filtering, application control and other threat protection services. Sold as bundles (ATP, UTP, Enterprise) or as single services.
FortiCare support
Vendor technical support, firmware updates and hardware replacement (RMA). Essential, Premium and Elite levels plus fast replacement in as little as 4 hours.
Software and cloud services

How renewal works
Renewal is simple – all we need is the device serial number.

You find it on the device label, on the FortiGate dashboard or in the FortiCare portal.

We see which services are active and when they end, and recommend the right bundle and term.

Offer and order
We send an offer; after you confirm we order the licence through Fortinet's partner channel.

Activation
We register the licence to the device and check that every service works. You get a reminder before the next expiry.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when a FortiGuard licence expires?
The firewall, VPN and routing keep working, but threat intelligence (IPS, antivirus, web filtering) stops updating and vendor support and hardware replacement are no longer available. Protection gets weaker over time.
Can I buy a licence for an existing device?
Yes. All FortiGuard and FortiCare licences work both for a new device and to renew an existing contract. The licence is bound to the serial number of the device.
Can I renew before the licence expires?
Yes, and it is recommended – that way there is no gap. The new term is normally added to the end of the current contract, so you lose no time by renewing early.
Is a longer term cheaper?
Yes, 3- and 5-year licences cost less per year than a 1-year licence. Our offer includes the price of every term.
Which bundle should I choose for a FortiGate?
UTP suits most businesses: it includes IPS, antivirus, web filtering, antispam and FortiCare Premium support. Enterprise adds AI-based malware prevention, DLP, IoT security and Security Rating.
How is a licence activated?
The licence is registered to the device serial number in the FortiCare portal and the device downloads the services automatically. We do this for you and check the result.
Is a licence about to expire?
